International Women’s Day 2024 has just been and gone and this year I marked the occasion at Rosewood London for a beautifully befitting gathering hosted by female-led creative agency, Female Narratives.

The gathering was hosted at Rosewood London’s Scarfes Bar (which I’m told is apparently in the World’s 50 Best Bars). Aptly named after renowned British caricaturist, Gerald Scarfe, the walls are emblazoned with jocular depictions of unmissable British public figures. The sophisticated yet lounge-like atmosphere made for the perfect setting for the morning’s proceedings.

It was wonderful to be in the company of so many like-minded women, all working across a range of industries – there was lots to discuss.

All of the stops were pulled out to create a welcoming and jovial occasion to celebrate International Women’s Day 2024, with all of the little details carefully considered. IWD always created an opportunity to really reflect on the impact that all the inspirational women in my life have had on me, and to feel immensely grateful for them. Camaraderie amongst women is a powerful thing.

The fascinating panel of speakers shared many moments of wisdom and imparted lots of inspiration. We heard from Laura Uccello, Corporate Partnerships department of London’s National Gallery (formerly Saatchi Gallery); Deep K Kailey, Founder of arts organisation, Without Shape Without Form (former Fashion Editor at Tatler and Vogue India); London-based multidisciplinary artist, Karimah Hassan.

The discussion dived deep into the importance of art, creative access, inspiration and the state of affairs, not to mention how the panellists successfully navigated their respective creative careers.

It was a beautiful event – a big thank you to Rosewood London and Female Narratives for making it so special. It’s safe to say we all left feeling incredibly inspired, and what’s more, proceeds from the day were to go to the Creative Mentor Network, which aims to make the creative world of work more inclusive.
