It was an honour to be invited by the Media Trust to spend the day at the Meta headquarters in London to participate in Women’s Voices 2025. This annual event in celebration of International Women’s Day brings together volunteers from across the media and creative industries (from organisations such as the BBC, Dentsu, Google, and Meta), to support 15 charities that campaign for, and advocate for women and girls across the UK.
The day kicked off with some inspiring keynote speeches from Media Trust’s CEO, Su-Mei Thompson and Gabby Jahanshahi-Edlin, Founder of Bloody Good Period.
All of the volunteers were put into small groups to connect with our selected charity and discuss ideas and share expertise. We were lucky enough to have Media Trust’s CEO, Su-Mei Thompson, join our group for the day.
It was incredible to connect with inspiring women and speak with representatives from the selected charities, which address female-centered issues ranging from maternal rights to domestic violence and female empowerment.
It was a bit of a full circle moment was fortunate enough to receive some career mentorship through Media Trust many moons ago, so it was meaningful to be able to give back and contribute to this cause.
