Last week, Female Narratives hosted another beautiful and inspiring event at Rosewood London to bring women together discuss all things culture and creativity.
The evening was hosted in Rosewood London’s stunning Mirror Room and was the third and final instalment in a three part series of events hosted by Female Narratives. I had the pleasure of also attending the kick-off event back in March, in celebration of International Women’s Day 2024.
The panel dived deep into discussion around the theme of ‘defining culture as the manifestations of human achievement’. The inspiring lineup included: Fola Evans-Akingbola (British actress and BAFTA nominated filmmaker), Rosh Mahtani (founder of Alighieri jewellery), and Arch Hades (artist and bestselling poet).
There were so many pearls of wisdom and vulnerable first-hand stories and experiences shared during the panel discussion. Some of the key takeaway points included:
- The importance of acknowledging those moments of self-doubt that inevitably come as part and parcel of any creative pursuit. That no matter what level of success you may achieve, there will always be days where you may question ‘what am I doing?’, but you just have to persevere.
- To lean into your individual creative process – rarely is it a linear one. Sometimes, you do have to be patient and wait for inspiration to strike, even if that may mean a day of sitting at your desk having written nothing (in Arch Hades’ case) or submitting new jewellery designs right up to the deadline (in Rosh Mahtani’s case).
- That it is okay to create for the sake of creating.
Can we just take a moment of appreciation for how stunning this space is!
It was a beautiful and inspiring evening and it was so lovely to get the opportunity to meet and speak with so many like-minded women. A massive thank you to Female Narratives and Rosewood London for such a delightful series of events.
